Julie Burnett, CEO/Founder

Julie seeks God for wisdom and guidance in all she does. Her decades of combined experience in ministry program development and in private practice as a speech-language pathologist has given her the experience to form Sow Simply Said Ministries into a dynamic ministry that will love God and serve others for decades to come.

Vassie Vaught,
Board Chairperson

Vassie has been volunteering in different programs and ministries for decades. As a graduate from Virginia Tech, he has worked in public education, Emergency Medical Services and the transportation industry. He serves as a grant writer and spokesman for Sow Simply Said Ministries.

Linda Vaught,
Board Secretary

Linda has been a life-long educator and child advocate. With 20 years in the school system, she also has HR, office admin (City of Roanoke), and transportation experience. She earned her BS from JMU and has since retired from the public workforce. Linda is active in her church and believes God has drawn her to So Simply Said Ministries to help develop a program that benefits early child development.

Anne Foster,
Board Member

Answering "yes" to participate in the growth of  Sow Simply Said Ministries provides an additional way for this Mom, Gigi, retired counselor, and volunteer to respond to God's love. By working in the community, listening, responding, and helping connect needs and resources, my prayer is that all involved will accomplish meaningful goals in service to our Lord and those in need.

Robin Eskey,
Board Member

Robin has always loved the Lord and over the past few years, felt God calling her to something bigger. She is a hair stylist, who has spent 30 years loving to help people feel beautiful. She joined Sow Simply Said Ministries because of her love for children and desires to help them reach their potential in life.

Brandie Kendrick, Board Member

Brandie is a loving mom, passionate musician and writer, devoted to Jesus. Years of working with young children led Brandie to her current leadership role in Early Intervention. Helping young children reach developmental milestones is her passion. Brandie was drawn to Sow Simply Said Ministries for its authentic approach and genuine commitment to supporting the community.

Kyle King,
Board Member

Kyle’s faith has been rooted in a heart to love God and serve others from an early age. Beginning with mission trips through her church youth group and growing into a lifelong commitment to children and families, Kyle is passionate about connecting literacy with her love for the Lord.

After graduating from Roanoke College, Kyle worked as an elementary school teacher before earning her Master’s degree in Reading from the University of Virginia, along with her librarian endorsement. When she learned about Sow Simply Said Ministries, she felt God stirring her heart to help meet tangible needs while strengthening faith and families in the community.

Excited to see what God has in store, Kyle joyfully stepped in to serve—eager to be the hands and feet of Jesus through her role on the board.

Kristin Mills,
Board Member

Kristin has been a proud resident of Pittsylvania County for 12 years and a dedicated educator for more than 20 years, specializing in early literacy. For the past 23 years, her life and work have been shaped by learning from—and striving to be more like—Jesus.

Kristin joined the board of Sow Simply Said Ministries out of a deep passion for early childhood education and a heartfelt desire for families to experience the love of Jesus while learning how to create meaningful, play-based opportunities that support their children’s development.
